Hey, what do you prefer, playing high res or 800x600 w/ FSAA??
I like no jaggies..but it slows doen my fps
At q3a (all max) 1024*768*32 gives me ~74fps. 800*600*32 with FSAA on gives me 45fps. What kind of performance hit do you experience wiht the V5?
hehe, also, can you take a screen shot of Q3 at 800x600x32 with 4x FSAA? I'll take a pic of mine too (hopefully the same spot!!). Anyone with a Geforce, can you also take a screen shot? Just a little comparision...
Well this right here is what I get in Quake3 with and without FSAA, look at the scores with the new Drivers:

Why don't you run the same benchmarks I did, like the Demo001 bench and Quaver, or you can just do Demo001 and Demo002 since they are built in... I can run some Demo002 if you do those too....
For the Loss of FPS going to 4X FSAA lets look at that
At 1024x768x16 I get 96.9fps but when i turn on 4X FSAA I get 27.9fps so a pretty big drop at higher resolutions
but at 640x480x16 I get 103.6fps and with 4X FSAA I get 70.1fps so very playable. I need to do some 800x600 benches I guess.
I know this I can play just fine at 1024x768x16 with 2X FSAA but I usually don't in Quake3 cause i like hih high frame rates. So I usually play at 800x600x32 with NO FSAA then i get good frams and good image quality.
FSAA on the V5 is SUPERB, it's much better then other cards because it's a different method, it's called the Jitter method of FSAA on the V5.
Let me get some shots, I'll do some 1024x768x32 with 4X FSAA for ya, but JPEG compression will make them not look as good as they look in person.... so the image size will be pretty high so be patient while they load.
