Sorry Roody. Not fun to get your hopes wrapped around something only to see them fly away. Maybe investigate some foreclosues in the area? Best of luck on your house hunt. I am sure something will come along that will suit your fancy.

I wish I was back in Ohio, but the job and school is to perfect plus we have family here. We are moving about 10 minutes away from where I work. That means no more walks to work, but it's still a quick drive.

Probably has to do with the water table, and that Florida isn't that high above sea level.

Yeah it's all about the water tables when you live on the shoreline or in a peninsula. If your property is in a flood plain zone, entrance to basement or top of foundation has to be at least a certain height (varies by region) above mean tide.
