Sounds like there are plenty of houses for sale in your area to get a deal if you're in the market!

I wish I was back in Ohio, but the job and school is to perfect plus we have family here. We are moving about 10 minutes away from where I work. That means no more walks to work, but it's still a quick drive. :)

No sorry MadDoc. It doesn't have a basement. There isn't alot of those in Florida.

Probably has to do with the water table, and that Florida isn't that high above sea level.

Yeah it's all about the water tables when you live on the shoreline or in a peninsula. If your property is in a flood plain zone, entrance to basement or top of foundation has to be at least a certain height (varies by region) above mean tide.
