First, read and re-read the Constitution and Bill of Rights, know it back and front. Then, inform everyone you know of these things as you read about them; you'll find that most people's apathy will go away when you tell them about stories like these in a one-on-one setting. Pass out flyers or send e-mails or organize and/or participate in local "town hall" meetings. Keep hammering. And be prepared to be rejected.

Then, be active in writing your local and state representatives and Congresspeople in opposition. Be clear, concise and make it known they will not be receiving your vote if they support such things. If these things continue, or a national ID is indeed implemented -- refuse to participate, even if it's to your detriment. If the widespread system that is planned actually goes into effect, then we will have to resort to the same tactics used in the Revolutionary War to affect change.

I will protest any national ID card, consequences be damned. It does nothing to prevent terrorism and is nothing more than a placebo to allay those of the population who are susceptible to fearmongering.

May 2005

When President Bush signed into law earlier this month the $82 billion bill to fund ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, incorporated within it was a second piece of legislation known as the REAL ID Act. When implemented three years from now, it will enable the government to follow the daily comings and goings of every US resident, citizen and non-citizen alike.

The law mandates state uniformity of driver’s licenses, in a manner to be determined by the Department of Homeland Security. It will require machine-readable electronic devices to be embedded so that an electronic swipe will reveal the location and business of all persons, whenever they do almost anything. At the same time, state databases will be interlinked to provide instantaneous checking of data. Every police stop could well incorporate not only arrest records, but also immigration status, and more.

The effect will be a profound transformation of daily life in America, as the driver’s license becomes tantamount to a national identity card. The card will nominally be issued by each of the 50 states, but if any state should not go along with the federal standards, its residents will not be allowed use their licenses to board an airplane or to enter a federal building. Without an approved card, it will be impossible to open a bank account, collect Social Security payments, or use virtually any other government services.

The final bill passed by a 368-58 vote in the House of Representatives on May 5. The Senate passed it unanimously on May 10, and President Bush signed it the next day.

No, you're weren't "just wondering."

You post all the time about investing and buying stocks, including a post today...that is EXACTLY why you wanted to know.

Feel free to contribute to Big Brother, though, I'm sure you'll be a good consumer buying things with your RFID chip.

People say that things like this can't be abused?

Cops or Civilians working for the police Department in Great Brittain used captures from the CCTV cams that they have around the cities to capture and sell images of people involved with a project an American artist Spencer Tunick was doing, that photographs nude scenes with hundreds, sometimes thousands of participants.

Big Brother Watching: Nude Photos Up for Sale?

British Police Investigate If Close-Ups of Naked Group Photos Are Being Sold

March 22, 2006 — Days after American artist Spencer Tunick snapped photos of mass nudity in Venezuela, police on another continent have investigated whether department colleagues have hawked close-ups from one of the photographer's last "all-in-the-flesh" shoots in England.

Police questioned a number of officers and police staff after receiving a tip that members of the staff did more than just observe the closed-circuit footage of the 1,700 people baring all in Newcastle on a cool morning in July 2005.

"If there is found to be any substance in these allegations, we will take prompt and robust action," said Deputy Chief Constable David Warcup in a prepared statement.

Why can there only be two sides? From a financial/budgetary perspective, I am more conservative than the Bush admin. Socially, I am certainly more liberal.

My father is a card carrying member of the Rep party - he calls the current admin neo-cons. Their methodology is very different from what baby-boomers call 'conservatism'. Teh deficit alone is evidence of that. Not trying to kick stuff up, just recognizign that we may need new labels...

B, I agree with most of your diatribes but I hope you do find the time to go vote in the future. IMO, the vote not cast is the acceptance of the police state.

Are you seriously suggesting I vote for someone I do not agree with, just to say I voted? I will not ever vote if I don't consider either candidate worthy of my vote, period.

Any Card that you have in your wallet CAN be faked.. your fingerprint is MUCH harder to copy.. having 3 forms of ID at a traffic stop makes sure the cop is ticketing the right person.. not you cause some kid thought it would be cool to steal your Identity and your car.. Now if this kid starts blowing stop lights and speedin and gets pulled over.. that fingerprint check will allow you to remain free from the harm he's comminting to your ID, cause the fingerprint check will verify its not you..

BTW i had to get 3 Fingerprint checks to get a job as a security Guard.. A little crazy if you ask me, considering its a job 90% of america finds demeaning and hate those that do it.. go figure..

Like it or not.. your Fingerprint is soon to be the only way to verify who someone is used in commonplace.. Biometrics WEEEEEEE!!!!

For those that have forgotten, ...driving a motor vehicle in the USA is a privilege, not a right... ;) (Sorry, that was way before any of the Bush family... :D )

Want to fight the system? Simple, don't drive and you won't need a license, nor have the need to be fingerprinted... That'll show 'em! :D [/stirring pot and LMAO]
