I gave this a try without getting my hopes up. I applied the "Optimized Settings", rebooted, and the difference is incredible. I was starting to think that there was simply a lag in the DNS queries with my ISP. Whatever the issue, it's now resolved. Thanks so much for a great utility!

I used it on a PC connected wirelessly, I can't imagine the results on my wired boxes

like the guy says above at the moment i have a download of 25480 Kbps and would really apriciate if it would be made to optimize higher then 20000 kbps. Or is there a way to do this myself??

i have installed this programme the other day after a mate did it for me and set all the stuff on it and after he did my downloads were incredibly fast i was getting full length films in about 40 mins which is fast to me but i messed it all up some how and i have no idea how to set it up i tried but cant get it to speed up can someone help me please

What a cool UTIL!

Before TCPOptimizer avg = 4218 down on my 7 meg DSL

After avg = 6178 down

31% increase!

Can this program be used with a connection shared by 6 others?I mean let's just say among the 7 that are sharing the connection only I use TCP Optimizer,will I see any difference in my connection speed?

Yes your connection will be optimum and if the other comps are not tweaked, you may be drawing more bandwidth from the line. Best is that all comps are similarly tweaked.

If you want to tweak your comp, post a new thread, telling us where you are located, name of your ISP, and the speed you paid to get.

Then, post your TCP Analyzer report.

IMHO, the Vista TCP/IP stack is way more sophisticated than the Optimizer Tweak. The only tweak to Vista IP settings should be to enable Compound TCP with the "netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp" command. Omit the quotes.

I have a question...

My internet is shared by 3 computers through a router and i decided to give a go at this software. I chose optimal settings, reboot and when i returned the internet connection stopped, just a few seconds after i started browsing. At night it did the same and today is doing the same, even though i have restored my configurations through the file "firstbackup" that i think the program created the first time i ran it. Could the program have messed up my router and modem configurations or it's just a huge coincidence that my internet started acting a few minutes after i used the program?

Hey I'd just like to say Holy f***ing sh*t!! ....Your TCP Optimiser v2.03 is the bomb. Normally I'm a bit skeptical of this kind of software but...Before I ran it on my PC and my downstream speeds were around 3.5mb. After I ran it I'm now at around 5mb....

I think I'm doing this wrong!! Had these speeds before:

Now have these speeds:

My upload speed has improved marginally (this is the best I've ever had) but my download is slower. I'm using a modem/router - is there anything I need to set to tweak that?

Before I had Linksys modem/router I was using a modem that gave me these speeds:

Disappointed I can't still get them. May plug in the old modem again and see what speeds I get with that after the TCP Optimizer!

Although I was getting 3880Kb/s before I changed modems, my stated max DSL speed is 2Mbps (I'm paying for up to 8Mbps) No idea what my up speed should be!!

Appreciate any help or hints/tips!

*Edit* I don't seem to be able now to get back to the speed I had before running the optimizer - plugged in the old modem and did a speed test and got the same result - baffled now! Maybe my ISP has slowed up for some reason... Will run the Optimizer again and see if it helps any

sure I'm setting it wrong as 99.9% of people seem to be getting great results from this!

And will it have a conflict on TCP optimizer after I install this TCP optimizer...
and also I have Tweaknow power pack...
Which should be use and which should be delected?

TCP Optimizer tweaks more registry values than the other two programs, and allows more fine tuning too.

Hi all,

just to say a big "THANK YOU !" for this program.

I just get a vdsl connection at 15Mbps yesterday and all the speedtests gave me 7Mbps at max. After I ran tcp optimizer, I'm at 13Mbps! It's just incredible!

I have 4 comps all using the 20meg broadband i pay through the nose for from Telewest - whether i use then one at a time or all together the fastest speed i have had (as per speedtest) is less than 5meg.....HOWEVER just used your TCPOptimizer and guess what???? 19785kb minimum no matter what time of day!!

I know you may have heard it before but what a cracking bit of software!!!

I was really sceptical about using it, as i am with any FREE software that promises great things, but fair play on this one!!!!

I just backed up my original settings, popped the slider up to 20meg and applied the settings - a quick reboot and all done!!! Im now happy to pay telewest their premium price for broadband.

Huge pat on the back to you guys, now can you invent some sort of program that makes huge amounts of money appear in my bank account?

just want to ask you, is it enough to go with the optimized setting option or we should tweak it manually ? which is better?

do we have to run it with every booting of the PC? or it only tweaks my settings and thats it..they are tweaked for a long time?

I run Windows XP Pro SP2 on this Dell XPS desktop which is 3 years old.

At the "Network Adapter selection" area of the "General Settings" tab of TCP Optimizer, the "IP address" does not display the correct ip address of my "Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller" adapter. This problem occurs when my adapter has automatically assigned ip address. The problem is TCP Optimizer continues to display the manually configured ip address which was previously assigned. Performance seems to be not affected, but just an annoying issue that maybe you could solve. Thanks for any advice.

i do a lot of reading in this forum than posting, but i still dont understand it 100% maybe 50% only about tweaking i always spending my time from 12:00 am to 5:00 am reading ^_^, but i still dont get how to tweak my connection, is it true? that even your subcription is only 512 kbps you can get it to 1mb?

i only getting 451 dL / 140+ UL i want to make it high, thats why i spend lots of reading/learning in this forum.

Hi, this is a noob question (I think)
Whenever I configure my router this is the configration I use:

Region
World

Provider
Basic

Service Name
Routed PPPoE - DHCP - NAPT

Service Description
Routed PPPoE Packet Service configuration using always-on session connectivity.

(Thats the info that my ISP gave me)My router is a Thomson Speedtouch 580 by the way...
Now, When I've tried to use TCPOptimizer in the past the results of a speedtest were EXACLY the same before and after the Tweaks with TCPOptimizer. So ive always thought that this tool was kinda pointless. By recently, While trying it again I noticed a "clicker" (or button if you will) under "MTU" (first tab of the TCPOptimizer) that said "PPOE". Now maybe, it has nothing to do with anything but when I click on it the MTU automatically changes from 1500 (standard) to 1492 (PPOE).
Should I click on that to optimize my connection? Maybe thats the reason why i didn't get any benefits from using the tool?
This is the info that I get when I use the "TCP/IP analyzer" (hosted in this website)

MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.
Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits (scale factor: 2^1=2)
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 64240

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
63888 (up to 2 Mbit lines, depending on latency. MSS * 44)
127776 (1-5 Mbit lines, depending on latency. MSS * 44 * 2)
255552 (2-14 Mbit lines, depending on latency. MSS * 44 * 2^2)
511104 (8-30 Mbit lines, depending on latency. MSS * 44 * 2^3)
1022208 (25-60 Mbit lines depending on latency. MSS * 44 * 2^4)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 5139 kbps (642 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

UL/DL Performance Improves about 10%, Compare 2 TCPOptimizer Custom Settings (Refer to SCIAv7.5 Settings)

I am using Fios 20/5 on an XP Pro system. According to Speaakeasy achieve between 17/3 and 19/5. Pretty darn good compared to cable! And, bless VZ for posting old information for MTU setting of 1492! Took me a long time tofigure out that's the setting for PPoe and newer installs use 1500! I just changed the Wireless Super Beast in the basement using Optimizer! I wnet from 5237/255 to 17/3.5. What a difference. You guys rock!
What do u think about these settings Optimizer has set for me using landline NY to NY speakeasy, Xp Pro? Also, should I swap out an olf NIC (6years old 100/10) for a newer NIC?

i am using xp home sp3.
my provider offers an 32000 dl.
is there a possibility to tweak my pc up to this speed?

I LIKE THE PROGRAM, I THINK THAT IS THE BETTER OF THE NET TO TWEAK THE TCIP PARAMETERS, SIMPLY IS AWESOME.

THE QUESTIONS IS WHY THIS IS LA LATEST VERSION, IS THE YEAR 2009 AND RELEASE THE OPERATING SYSTEM WINDOWS 7 AND THERE ARE NOT A PROGRAM THAT CAN TWEAK THE PARAMETERS LIKE TCP OPTIMIZER STILL, BUT YES TO WINDOWS VISTA 32 AND 64 BIST.

I don't see anywhere where it says that it supports the 64-bit version of XP. Does it? If not, any plans to? I'd REALLY HATE to lose the use of this utility!!! It is the only one that I have found that truly works and does everything it says it will (settings)!
