Hey you had me in tears the last time. I don't want everyone here to think that I'm really a soft hearted guy after all. Got to admit, it choked me up this time too.

Mr.Ross (blebs99),
I just said a prayer for you and your Wife.
My Wife went on the Family Medical Leave Act last year when she had to be hospitalized…
I know your going thru a lot.
I pray for a speedy recovery for your Wife. I’m thinking of you both.

Well we went to the Doctor. What a waste of time. I think the visit was nothing more then an avenue to generate more money into his office. In short, he looked at the rash, said contact your primary Doctor about it, then scheduled the renal scan for the 12th and a return visit to him on the 16th. I reminded him that the clock was running on family leave and that if it runs out, so does the job and so does the money to pay.
One thing is certain and for sure, there will be surgery. It's simply a matter of determining how extensive it need be. Do we remove or repair the block or remove the entire kidney? There is no doubt that surgery is in the picture.
I feel sickened by this visit. Once again, I'm trying to control something I have no control over. As the days go by, less and less of family medical leave remains and less and less income being generated. Maybe I need to relax? They don't seem to be influenced or in any darn hurry even though we are.
Bummed,
Ross

Thanks Sammy, but more importantly, keep those prayers coming too. Why do physicians take their good old time about doing things?

Well we are back from the renal scan. The unofficial word is, the kidney is NOT functioning at all. The only places the isotopes even lit up were where the kidney is leaking blood. Bare in mind, this is the unofficial word. The official comes on Monday after the Surgeons visit.

So if this becomes a non working Kidney, Can she/will she get a Kidney transplant?

Sammy you can live quite nicely with only one kidney. She will have to take care of that one and pray nothing goes wrong with it.

Philip wrote:I was contacted by a couple of members with some sad news. Seems Ross (blebs99) is having a really hard time right now. His wife may have to have her kidney removed. She is in the hospital and they are living on his disability while she can't work. Additional information and updates can be found here (although you'd have to register):

Some of the members of that forum are getting together and doing a donation offering. They have even set up a PO box, if anyone wants to send him a donation to help out while Lyn is out of work or with the hospital bills or anything. If anyone is interested in helping, make a check payable to Ross Young, put "speedguide" and "donation to Ross" so they know it was from a SG member. The address is:
Ross Fund
6021 SW. 29th St.
PMB 247, Ste.A
Topeka, Kansas 66614
If you need more info, post in the above thread, or PM "Miss Gummy" at the SG forums, or "Birdie" at the
Cloudeight forum
Whether you can donate or not, Ross and his wife can really use some prayers and support.
Paypal: I've had a couple of requests to setup a Paypal donation method for Ross. If you'd like, feel free to paypal any donation money directly to me (
Click Here, or simply paypal philip at speedguide.net) and I'd be happy to relay it in the form of a check to Ross. Please also add a note with your username if you want, so I can relay that information as well.
Paypal donations so far (thank you) :

You've had your share of crap this year too. Maybe when it's all said and done, we can make one big crap pie and serve it to all those that have served it to us?

The Official Word-SURGERY TUESDAY THE 24TH A.M.
The kidney is functioning less then 25%. The surgeon is going to go in and see if the kidney is any better then what the scan showed. If it is, he'll repair the defect. If it's as bad or worse then shown, complete left kidney removal will be done.
There it is folks. Now the real nervousness starts.
