& some update about client licences.
installed server without sbs month ago, add some users for shared folders security and get messages
"License usage for product Windows Server is at the maximum number of per server licenses purchased"
***many many bad words to microsoft***.
How many licenses did you purchase? SBS comes with 5 out of the box, purchase additional 5x packs.
SBS2000 had issues with client licensing, but 2003 got it squared away.

Ahh...perfect setup for Foundations Server...no SBS components, yet some cool features and excellent pricing for a single server for a small biz. And most importantly for a business (since it's a server running important applications and storage)...it remains fully supported by Microsoft...so it's something the consultant can feel good about supporting. I only support a supported product in a business. For the "potential" clients that have a 1/2 arse jury rigged illegally licensed non-supported setup...and I'm asked to help them...I triage the setup...and propose a proper setup that is correctly licensed, and setup in a supported manner. If they do not want to spend the money to put that into place...I tell them I cannot help them and walk away. If I ignore that..and support them in a bad setup..and something goes wrong, and they look at me to get their data back up and running..and I can't..because it really was not a setup designed to do so....they will want to hold me accountable (and my business). I will not allow myself to be in that situation.
