well after posting my picture the other way, I realized how sloppy all of my wiring had gotten. Switched over to cable from DSL yeserday and decided to rewire everything and do some general organizing. Still not 100% happy with it, but can live with it until I find my dream desk.
Last picture is my next project, the boys entertainment center.

Heres some pics I snapped at work of the network we are retooling, all while keeping it live of course!!
heres my office:
These servers are *definitely* on the way out, LOL running an e-commerce server on a MAC!!!
And, the rat's nest. Notice how close to the wall the racks are mounted so as to make getting all the way behind the far rack just about impossible. Also notice the ancient telecom patch-panel that still carries live network circuits!!

My desk is the same as someone said earlier, I clean it off and an hour or two later my wife gets home and it's destroyed again, that's her machine on the right and my machine on the left with the dual 21"s. I've still got this LCD 15" monitor that I'd like to sell, no word from Indy in last month or two about him still wanting it.

Tell me about. We just wnet live with a new network. Can you believe there is no firewall in all that mess and ALL devices on the LAN have a public IP address? sheeesh

OMG, and knowing how people treat windows updates in large networks like that... It's hard to say what's on those machines since they all have public IP's...
I would also tell them how it is... (security, etc, etc) and say unless you pay the money to rebuild i'm not working on it. plain and simple.

Yeah, it's currently a mess, but we just deployed a Sonicwall and changed everything over to DHCP except a few of there MAC servers which we just threw into the DMZ. Deployed 3 new Dell servers (2 1750's and a 2650 file server plus a powervault) so now we've got a proper PDC running the show, LOL first thinmg we did was force-feed all clients Symantec's Corporate AV. I need to come up with a script to get everything to run Windows Update now(even though I'v e manually set everything I've laid hands on) but I don't mind too much, it is my first networking job so I'm learning about alot of stuff first-hand AND I'm paid hourly

Consider setting up a SUS server on one of the new servers. I've set a couple up now, and they really work pretty well. Saves bandwidth and lets you control which updates get installed, and when. Group policy objects prevent users from altering the settings too. A pretty good freebie from MS. Gotta' run on server though, and should not be a DC.
Best thing you can do with them and Apple-squawk is put them on their own subnet and switch. Seriously, it really cuts down their broadcast traffic, and they'll behave nicer on your network.
it has a front cover Our terminal Server Adaptec RAID Controllers Havent had the time to cut jumpers for our rack yet, looks nasty right now,GIGABIT LAN 4GB of PC2100 Registered/ECC 15,000 RPM's(x5) of SCSI GOODNESS Gotta stay protected
Looking good m4a2t0t, looks like a heck of a place to work! That's some nice stuff for what seems like a startup? (HDTV) They must have got one heck of a loan!
