As for how it runs.... VERY FAST and very smooth!! I'd say its much better than IE9 or Chrome at this point!

Windows 8 and IE 10 will be out soon enough. I might actually switch.

I won't... i'll skip Win8 and IE10 will however be available on Win7... I use FF as a primary Browser, IE is sometimes used but its rare anymore.

For users still on XP Firefox is the only way to go as they can't even upgrade to IE9

Firefox or Chrome. On my old system they run decent, IE is slow as hell.

I have noticed in the last few versions that FF has been hanging as in still running and showing in Task Manager even after I close it for hours later...I wonder whats causing this? hmm.... Doesn't do it all the time but just a random event...takes me to kill the process wait a min then open it back up all is well.

It happens, usually when a plugin like flash has heavy memory usage.

ohh yeah considering IE stopped at 8 for XP...throw this on a XP machine and its the best choice by far.

By far? What separates it from Google so much in your eyes? FF8 adn Chrome 14 are about even and Chrome has the DNS stuff that kinda gives it an edge in speed. FF has the addons advantage but theres a a good selection of addons for chrome now.

Why skip 8? Have you not at least downloaded the DP and tested it before making a comment on the OS? Still has bugs (obviously) but it is pretty cool where MS are heading with this.

you know better than that..of course I've downloaded and tested the DP.... I'm just not wasting the money on an OS I won't need since Win7 already runs everything I need and more... So Unless someone throws a OEM copy of Win8 64bit Pro (or whatever) into my lap and says here FREE then nope not gonna do it.

I've not run it for a few versions as I just don't like Chrome.... I'd prefer IE9 over it. I just don't feel the need to run back to it and test after each version release when I've already sold myself on Firefox and with FF8 coming out any day now...yeah I'll stay with it.
