Yahoo!! That window just opened up again...musta been your wish Scatman...thanks!!

I have a new confirmed surgery date at long last, and all the paperwork, and approvals are in!! I am to report to the hospital at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20th. It's finally gonna fly!! I am sooooo ready!! Santa will just have to come and visit me there.

Thanks again guys for all your support! I still have a few days left that I can bug ya!!
WoooHoooo!!!!

It's about time Misty. :thumb:

Thanks once again guys and gal! :thumb:

Today was the last of all the pre-op procedures..and it appears the only thing that was forgotten was a chest exray...unreal!!!....so I parked myself right there...and said I am NOT leaving here until all of this is complete..period! Send me where ya gotta, do what you have to...I am here to the finish...have pillow in car...can sleep anywhere! giggle!

Everything is a go for Wednesday morning...I do not believe it can be stalled for any other reason on Gods green earth. They expected me, I am sure, to postpone or delay the surgery because this one was set before Xmas. WRONG...it did not happen on my part...and my entire family understands completely.

Am I sad a bit about Xmas day itself? Of course I am...and especially with my oldest daughter coming in for the holidays..and I will be in the hospital for the most part, while she is here.

Am I happy? You bet!!! I might still be around to enjoy next year with them...and take my special cooking holiday and pleasure back!! :p

Hiya guys and gals!

Wednesday is the big day...at long long last! I will be leaving here for the hospital at about 5 a.m., Wednesday morning for the surgery on both legs. They have called me in an hour early, in case they run into the same iv problems they did on the last one. The left leg is the illiac artery, and the right leg will be the femerol artery. Gee...wonder how it is gonna feel to be warm again! Yahoo!!

Tomorrow will be the last once over, and gathering of things needed both here and there, so I may not have much time at the puter. My daughter is here from Southern California as well, and will be staying until the Jan.2nd..that is going to be quite a comfort to me...so I will be spending as much time as possible with her tomorrow as well. She is with my son right now, after a magnificent xmas holiday spent there yesterday...her being the best present of all!! Magnificent dinner too with all the trimmings! :p

I want to thank each and every one of you once again, for all the marvelous support and caring here...for following this thread...and having the ultimate patience of listening to me throughout this entire ordeal. It has been a long long very hard fought struggle...now off to victory!! None less is acceptable!!

Thank you SpeedGuide!!

Heard from Tink's daughter that the surgery went well. The surgery took three and a half hours and she was out of it for six. Bypasses on both sides instead of scraping and she is now in recovery. They are trying to get a laptop to her in about four days time so she can post herself.

Received further news that the improvements continue. Pretty bad time to be stuck in a hospital but i have an idea she won't mind as long as the improvements continue. I'll leave the medical details for Tink to explain when she gets back on here but her family are really encouraged by the progress.

More good news on the recovery front. As of Saturday she is up and walking though still in pain. She gets coffee today, Sunday, that will make her feel even better! No internet in the hospital and no firm date for release but Tink's family are very happy with both the treatment and the hospital.

Yups, it's great to hear she's doing good.

I'm sure it'll be a bit before Misty sees the latest chop in her honor. Before she went in for the surgery, she made me promise no chopping until I got a job, lol.

She was debating where she was gonna park herself when she got home. She was considering her couch. I've since thought of a KVM for her 4 folding rigs, with wireless keyboard and optical mouse, on an adjustable bed tray. A couple button head screws thru the tray would keep the kb from sliding "down". I assume she already has a phone line splitter set up for each modem. So I have a suggestion for Misty there, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery. :)

She's still gonna be in that brace, so comfort is going to be an issue for her for a while. :(

I deliberately did not unveil the new legs ... :p

I'm afraid this update isn't as positive as the last ones. Tink has trouble with her blood pressure, oxygen levels and fluid on the lungs and has been moved back to the icu.
The medical staff don't seem unduly worried but as you may imagine Tink's family are but she remains in good spirits.

Better news from Tink's daughter

Well things are looking better. They put Mom in a room two days ago. First day was hard on her as she was way to weak for all they we're trying to put her through. Yesterday she started getting a little better, the food they finally decided to give her helped so much (We were ready to sneak McDonalds hamburgers in for her). She went through a rough spell but came back and has accomplished so much since then. She's eating, walking talking and ready to go home. She having a few kinks but each one the hospital staff jumps on and clears out of her way. If she keeps improving like this they may let her come home this weekend. We're all looking forward to that possibility with uplifted hearts. She misses Dad, the dogs and being on her on turf. Things are looking so much better which has helped all our spirits. Grateful the worst seems to be behind her now. She misses her chat friends on speed guide. Please let them know how much all of there well wishes have meant to her.

Though she's caught a bug, staph, and is in isolation her spirits and eating are both good. Can't be fun spending this much time in hospital when the estimate was a lot less but i do feel those two thing are most important. Still no news on a release date but she misses all of you and sends her love.
