:rockin: Joe Cocker: Mad Dogs & Englishmen ... 2CDs 5 Stars imho :rockin:

Still stands tall after all these years, 1970. Big sound with 3 drummers in the group along with 10 singers and other assorted musicians & Leon Russell leading the group of revelers. A film of the event is also out their.

Had to shut my stereo down 3 days ago due to storms here with lightning, rain & high winds. These 2 actually 3 CDs are as good a way as any to get back in the groove. Both excellent!

Sam Cooke: Live at THe Harlem Square Club

Great singer with some outstanding songs to his credit, However this CD Fails imho as he spends too much time trying to be an entertainer with endless chatter to his audience when his time would have been better spent simply singing.

Love his old stuff Dan. His new not so much as his voice is shot.

I remember i was living in Vancouver in 1976 and had stayed at a hotel for a few months prior to getting my house and a young bellhop their was talking of this new LP he had of a great singer called Rod Stewart whom i had never heard of then.

When i moved into my house he came over with a few records and we listened to this Stewart one called Atlantic Crossing. It was great and i was now a fan. He did a lot of terrific stuff when he rocked. The girls loved him, still do i guess. He certainly ends up with some beauties.

1900's - "I Know I'm Not Wrong"

I was viewing a live version of this sprightly Fleetwood Mac number on youtube and spotted this cover.

Bryan Ferry: These Foolish Things ... Though it gets rave reviews i personally do not care for it. A CD of covers that are great by the original artists yet fail imho by Ferry's treatment of them.

Dennis Wilson: Pacific Ocean Blue (Legacy Edition 2CDs) ... with preiviously unreleased material from the unfinished Bambu project.

Darkly brilliant CD's from the one brother that was overlooked. Sad he went so early as much more might have emerged from him. A very worthwhile set. :thumb:

After having time to reflect on this double CD & replaying CD2 i wish to upgrade it from " A very worthwhile set" to a Very Wonderful, terrific double CD Set. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :)

There is so much to absorb it takes awhile to get a true measure of it.

Dave Matthews Band..."Seek Up"...from the live at red rocks album.
IMO, some of the best percussion out there....Carter really shows a fantastic jazz/off-beat approach in this song, incredible stuff! Anyone into percussion...find this particular version from the Live at Red Rocks CD set and listen to it with a quality sound system...the musical depth of the song and Carters percussion are stunning.

Long John Baldry: Lookin at Long John & Long Johns Blues :thumb:

... A compilation of 2 CD's on one disc of this out of print CD, the Long John's Blues.

I have wanted this one for sometime being a big Baldry fan but was unwilling to pony up the asking price for this compilation disc. Finally found it on Amazon US for $80 bucks but still had to wrestle with my conscience on the price. Finally after many months i exchanged the digits on my Card for the ones on this spinning silver disc and i must say i think i received fair value. I will be buying less CD's this month though. :(

It was the start of the Blues in England and Baldry was at the head of the pack. Great musicians backing him & his unique voice make this a special one.

Solid 4 Stars imho :)

Johnny Winter: The Woodstock Experience 2CD's ... The 1 CD is his Johnny Winter self titled one & the other is his full set at Woodstock never released before this.

Simply put it is an Awesome package. :rockin: :rockin: :rockin: :rockin: :rockin:

===

Robbie Robertson: How to Become Clairvoyant 2CD's ... imho it could have been a much better effort if it had been condensed to 1 CD. Great at times & not so much at others. *** stars
