The Sims Online - thoughts, comments, reviews

Post by mountainman »

Hey guys (and girls): Has anyone played this? I just read an article in the paper about it. Sounds like it is over 100,000 people just playing the trial version. I think it is supposed to come out anytime now for the retail version.

So, do you think it'll be as big a hit as The Sims? Some are projecting this will be the biggest online pay game ever. Looks like the game will start out at $49.95 plus $9.95 per month for the online play. It sounds fun, but I would rather frag on CS.

Also, another interesting note is that roughly 60% of the players are female. This is what broke The Sims into being the most popular PC game of alltime...it appealed to both sexes.

So, what do you think? :)

EA is definitly going to make a killing off of this game...and that's just the online version of it.

I've also read that if you add all the money EA has raked in from the Sims titles, it would rank between the fifth and sixth top grossing movies of all time!

Jurassic Park 357 Million
The Sims 383 Million
Spider-Man 404 Million

A total of 17 million units of all the Sims units of titles in all!

So yeah, I think it will become the most popular online game of all time.

I know a few people who have gotten sucked into that game...my daughter being one of them...I think she likes the aspect of having control over something :D

for some reason i could not get into The Sims. bought it maybe 2 years ago. wound up giving it to a freind. i am more of a FPS player, i guess.

now, the online version does seem like an interesting twist. depends on how the gameplay is. i could see it turning into a big chatroom with the usual mayhem ensuing........ only with more possibilities. it will be interesting to say the least.

sure does faust.. sounds interesting..

sims was actually a gamethat my sister played!

she had a family going on too! no cheats... he waas an astronaut and the wife was like senator or something..

I mean if my sister is interested in this game.. then this game really has a broad appeal..

they're going to make a kagillion dollars..

me and the wifey played it for about a month. I was the girl and she was the guy. it was fun and we both played our own charactor, right up until they were about to get married. For some reason, we suddenly lost interest and NEVER played again!
