I'm trying to help somebody debug their wireless network, and I need some avenues to follow.
The guy has a cable connection going to a wireless router (I think it'a a Linksys, but I'm not sure). He has a desktop and a laptop, each with a wireless connection.
The problem is that each machine has no problem getting to the Internet, but for some reason, the share he set up on the desktop is not connecting at the laptop.
Both machines are running Win98.
Since the outside net is reachable, I'm assuming that the actual network connections are good. The fact that the problem is in the drive connection makes me wonder if there is a port blocked or if there's something else going on with the machines themselves.
Any good troubleshooting directions you guys can throw my way?

Was the file and print sharing ever working in the first place, or at all, at least once?
Did he also add software firewalls on the laptops for some reason?
