Most effective use of a rock song in a movie...

Post by Indy »

I thought that the opening sequence in "The Stand" in the bio lab with all the dead technicians and the use of the song "Don't Fear the Reaper" was a very good match...

So, anyone else have a good example of songs that were made for the scene they were used in a movie?

Easy Rider...Born to be Wild..

Easy Rider...Don't Bogart That...
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

That's a really good example. I thought the soundtrack to Full Metal Jacket was pretty appropriate. Someone correct me but wasn't there a part of the movie the GIs were moving across the Delta and All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix was heard or was that scene in Platoon.

lol, you know whats funny? That movie was in theaters when I enlisted in the Navy...although it really didn't have any bearing on my decision to enlist...(nor would I ever say that it had any influence either ;) )

Was just thinking..."Bad To the Bone" in Terminator 2 was a good choice of music for that scene :D

My first would be "Sympathy for The Devil" in Interview with a Vampire

"Don't Fear the Reaper" in The Stand was awesome

"Tiny Dancer" in Almost Famous just worked well too.
