linksys and port forwarding

linksys and port forwarding

I have 2 comp hooked into a linksys router. Whenever i enable port forwarding on one comp the other one lost net connection. Anyone know whats wrong with it?

make sure you only type in the computers lan ip address that you are forwarding the ports to.. and the port ranges ... nothing else should be changed. Then apply.

I did and after i press apply the other comp lost connection but i still have mine. And when I put in the other comp IP i lost my connection.

Everyone connected to the router will lose internet connectivity for a brief few seconds....while the router internally reboots after hitting the "Apply" button. But their connection should bome back within a few seconds after the router fully reboots.

If when you try to port forward, others lose the connection...then something is not being done correctly. What ports are you trying to forward? For what application? And what exactly does the other computer lose? Internet browsing? Or lose of that application that you are forwarding ports for.
