sound problem

Ive been having probs with the sound card driver...
I have the Creative Sound Blaster 16 or awe -32 sound card but recently i got an update driver from the net. Now when i install the driver and the comp restarts i get this msg - A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:c189beff in VXD vsb16(04) + 00001b8f.
the screen then freezes and wont load up windows 98...
I find that i then have to go into safe mode and remove the driver.
Now because of this i havent got any sound. Any suggestions how to fix this?

reinstall the old driver

You sure you have the right drivers for your card and your OS?????

If so id say go back to old one
