Ok, I'm having a very strange problem. I've been using a linksys router and 4 computers on a lan with the router connected to a cable modem for over a year now. I've been running a web site off my computer for most of that time, and everything has been fine until recently. I have my computer set as the dmz host in the router config. I recently got a new computer and had to reinstall everything. At the same time I installed the Bulletproof FTP server. I was using the warftp server before I got the new computer, but it wasn't working for people who were also behind routers, so I tried the Bulletproof program and I got it working for everyone by setting a passive mode ip and a home ip (my lan address). To simplify: the Bulletproof server has some ip settings that warftp didn't which made my ftp site work for people who are behind routers. So now I have a smoothly functioning ftp site.
My web site on the other hand is having problems. Several of my friends who are all behind routers can get on, but I can't get on from my school campus, and I've had several other people tell me they can't get on, although I'm not sure if they are behind routers or how they are connected to the internet. Before, however, everyone could get on the web site. I had no problems from campus either. I'm wondering if I've got something set differently now from what I had before setting up my new computer, or if the installation of the bulletproof ftp server has anything to do with it.
I can get on my ftp site from campus, but not the web site. Does that make sense? When I try a traceroute, it times out after several hops (It looks like it's almost to my ip address). I don't understand how the ftp server can work while the web server can't work from the same computer.
I'm using tiny web server. It's a small little command line program that has always worked great for me up until now. I don't even know if it's the problem. Anyone have any suggestions for a good free web server prog?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Web Serving Problem with linksys router
Anyone have any suggestions for a good free web server prog?
Apache!
You are running both servers on the same host? Most routers don't allow for multiple DMZ hosts (tho some high-end ones do). I would try stopping the ftp server then testing accessing the webserver.

Yep, Apache would be the way to go unless you're deep in bed with IIS, like myself.
Setting that PC on the DMZ implies that it is publicly accessible by anyone on your WAN port, and it provides no firewall security, as in all incoming/outgoing TCP/UDP ports are wide open, so be very wary of leaving it like that. I would suggest you remove your server from the DMZ, and just forward the FTP and HTTPD ports to it from the WAN. The problem likely lies with the web server software, or unless your ISP is filtering incoming connections on port 80. One way to find out is by setting your web server's listening port to something else, like 8080. Otherwise, ditch it, and get Apache. Lastly, pings may time out to your PC if your router has "Hide network from ICMP requests" or "Discard PING from WAN side" enabled. This is fine, it just hides your network from typical UDP/ICMP probes.
