Didn't come with the directions?

Make sure the TCP/IP bound to your network card on your computer it set to "Obtain IP address Automatically", gateway is left blank, WINS is disabled, and DNS is disabled. Have your computer plugged into one of the free ports of the switch on back of the router. Reboot. Then make sure your web browser is set to use LAN withOUT Proxy for it's connection. Log onto the routers admin page by entering 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of IE. Log on using Admin for username, and 1234 I think is the default password. Or 123, or 12345 I forget. Anyways, you then will be walked through the easy configuration wizard to setup your account, be it DSL or Cable. Once it's connected, reboot your computer another time and your off.

Netgear router is pretty simple to set up. Need to know what kind of service cable, DSL. Static or DHCP IP. It would also be nice if we knew what OS's the systems were using. And just for grins you may want to call your ISP and ask them things like Default gateway and DNS address's.

Now to get into the web based configuration you need to open up IE(or what ever browser your using) and in the address bar type

http://192.168.0.1 You can do this from any system connected to the router

logon is going to be "admin" and password is "1234"

Need the above info to go any further.

The first thing your gonna do is get into the web based setup.
http://192.168.0.1
Now your going to go to the bottom of the screen where it says "domain name" and put in (mine is lvcablemodem.com). Click next then next again.
Now from the next menu select use fixed ip address

type what ever your address is in here IE:24.234.130.XXX

your isp gave you this address!!!

subnet mask 255.255.255.0

gateway is going to be .1 in other words it looks like this
24.234.130.1 notice the last bit .1

Now when it comes to DNS servers I perfer to put my ISP servers in manualy(thats why I asked you the DNS servers address).
Mine is 24.234.0.5 , 24.234.0.7(I have found that in most cases you need this info).

WIN mac address you can use defaults

Now in windows your going to get into network properties then double click on TCP/IP with your nic followed. gonna look kinda like this

TCP/IP 3com

double click on it and select ip address. make sure that is on obtain IP address automaticaly. then click on DNS and put your DNS address's in. under gatway put in 192.168.0.1

All the systems should be set to DHCP.

The router will take care of the rest.

If you have problems then write me or PM me and I will help
