Another Speed Tip

** If you are concerned about DAP having Spyware, please download Ad Aware from Here , and run it once in a while to see if some spyware is bugging you. Thanks to Robert Baumer and Lobo for this!

1. Once installed, go to Programs at the top of the Toolbar when you open the main window.

2. Click Option/Configuration, and a window pops up.

3. Click on Connection on the left hand side.

4. Choose LAN 10MBps for your Connection even if it's not. Choose Super Acceleration for the Acceleration Mode.

5. Choose the Country that is as far away to where you are accessing the computer from.

Voila! that's it. You would recieve from 10% to 300% faster downloading speed, depending on how your CPU reacts to your change.

I uninstalled DAP ages ago...but would Ad-aware remove spy wear files lobo?....If not could spywear still be on my system?

Yes ad adware removes it but you should keep ad-aware and run sometimes, and some programs that contain spyware will not function if you remove the spyware, get ad-aware hare

i 86ed dap, and installed gozilla on my new hard drive, dont know if it has any spyware, but it seems to be working fine, i d/led it from zdnet under the free section, so i dont get nagged like i was from dap, but i have to say "WHAT PRIVACY". GET A FIREWALL, and dont let stuff out or in, i just installed sygate personal firewall,it was free, yes i love da free stuff lol, works better then norton and the little personal firewall, has a nice trace back proggie.

Lobo, here's the problem. If they know that it's Spyware, and they still didn't Uninstall it, shouldn't they get the FULL benifit of it?

hey! hey! ExtraCrispy tried the tweak you reccomend(alias spyware) and it was terrible!! i would not put this on my enemies computer!! please everyone stay away from this!! no good terrible..blah blah

Try searching for Dap in the software forum, it's a old old thread, but Norm himself have stated that DAP isn't spyware, in fact, he uses DAP....

(Don't quote me on this...though, I could be mistaken.)

If you really want to kill your bandwidth though, I have a program written by a Chinese programmer that allows you to download 100+ threads at the same time, if you have enough bandwidth.

PM me if you want it, it's freeware and it'll let you download faster than DAP.

well for right now i do not give out to much
about myself.. and when i am unhappy about a product
i break it down and analyze it before i give my full judgement.
for right now i will stay away from the SPYWARE item!!

Performance Wise, Lobo. that's what I am asking.

Also, when I installed DAP, and ran Ad-Aware, there's no spyware detected.

And also, Splitting the file into 100bits would help, but it wouldn't do what DAP do, which is downloading from at least 2 servers so that if one server is busy, the other half of the file is easily downloaded on another server.

You can phrase it anyway you wish, the bottom line is you can not alter a copywrited product in anyway, thats one of the reasons I DO NOT recommend this, it's breaking the law, so if people in suits knock on your door, take your puter, mistake you fer USAMA-BIN, goodby old buddy (Save me some video tape from user cp) lol

I am NOT Phrasing it differently, Lobo. WITHOUT the adaware, how did the performance drop? I am asking about the TWEAK, not with Ad-aware taking out the spywares.

There is only one way you did not pick up "Doubleclick" that is if:

Then you go to Tools on your Tool bar,
then to Internet Options,
Then click on the Security Tab,
Then click on the Restrictive Sites Icon.
Click on the "sites"
Then add these in
*.doubleclick.net

I tested it this morning it's on there, it's on spyware list

my browser kept crashing and I had to log in again and again, and I lost all the emails of the people that wanted the program.

Lobo, the only thing that I can say to that is: the list COULD be wrong.

Did you even try DAP for yourself??
Download and install it, look at all the files that are installed, and you'll see that it's not spyware.

Just goto the software forum and search for the DAP thread, we discussed about it a lot and if you actually read the thread, you will see that it's not spyware.

Yes I tested it, ran ad aware to make sure no spyware was on system, downloaded and installed DAP, then used it to download file, then ran ad aware again and it picked up Doubleclick, Spyware

Comn on, Lobo. In my opinion, and many others, it works, and websurfing speeds do come up a notch. Uploading is the same thing, if you are not capped.

Lobo you the man!! and in my opinion when i ask for your help personally i will always wait for your reply(and dont get me wrong all help is cool..but when it is fraudelent and bogus..just to get post numbers then i do not want any help)
