NO WAY!@!
So what if it hogs resources.. All it hogs basiclly is RAM, which you can get it now cheaper than ever before.(59 CDN for 256 special!)
I am thinking of getting myself a XP Pro, since it will run more stable than the home edition from what I heard.(Common sense too..
)
Windows ME is A WASTE OF MONEY!!! THAT"S DAMN TRUE!! It doesn't give you what an upgrade should be. Windows XP is at least 2 times faster than NT at bootup, more stuff added in, combine NT with 98SE, that's what you should get.

But remember, Windows XP isn't fully released yet, so we don't know for sure how many "useless junks" there are in there. Maybe Microsoft will be nice to us and give us something good in there?
Regardless, if you don't mind the ssssssssssssllllllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww bootup by NT, then you should get that, otherwise, I say wait until the end of August to get XP.

Right now, I am using 2520 XP Pro, and let me tell ya, it sure beats NT.
Seriouly though. You will have to reinstall some drivers, have to redownload all the programs if you decide to do a clean install and wipe out. You could save all your needs and programs on CD so it only take 20 min max to transfer the files. However, you might have to download some programs again since some programs have different versions for different OS.
I RECOMMAND getting XP, seriouly. BUT, if you can get Windows NT CD for cheap, than use NT, because there's no point buying XP at 600 dollars when you have a simular, but not quite close version that you can get for cheap.
