How come SG only lets you post 1 message per 30secs?

How come SG only lets you post 1 message per 30secs?

Sometimes I open new windows for different threads. When I reply to a post, and try to reply to another post, I get a message saying that I have to wait 30 secs in order to continue posting. Why?

because of server load and spamming potential

it's always been this way, even way back in our ubb days....

Also it prevents double posts.. so i am all for it.. although making it a lower number like 20 wouldnt hurt
