Kitchen sink and faucet recommendation

Post by robertbearden »

My wife wants to change the full decoration in the kitchen. Talk to my local cabinet place about cabinets needed for my new house. He tells me about cabinets he has that knock the socks off of anything else in their price range. Full plywood construction, dovetail drawers, full-extension with soft close, etc. I must say I was impressed with the price considering all the info.
Now I just want to get any better idea or suggestion for Vassel sink and Faucet <affiliate advertising link removed>. If anyone tells me about the cabinet that also is great for me.
Your suggestion is really very helpful for me.
Thank You.

The good thing about Moen stuff is that for the price you pay they don't mind sending you replacement parts. The bad part is that their stuff is so **** you need to get those replacement parts.

The review seems fairly honest. One lever faucets do have a tendency to leak and even though it appears that you can have just cold water, as an example, a bit of hot will often be mixed in, if you follow. This is due to the nature of the design. They need to be handled with a softer touch as using them like you would use a gear shift in car will definitely cause them to leak faster.
Of course with a vessel sink, the single lever is typically used due to the aesthetics.

And I don't mean this in a bad way, however are you sure that you want to use a vessel sink in a kitchen? They are usually used in bathrooms, again by design... I could be wrong as I haven't looked at sinks in years...

Good luck and welcome to the forums!

vessal sinks are for bathrooms, they look neat but really suck for usage generally.

go to a plumbing show room and have them suggest something for ya, you can spend $50 to $2000 or more if ya want LOL

and just say NO to anything ikea has to offer !

Wife and I re-did the kitchen and decided (for the first time) not to cheap out on the faucet. We bought a $210 Kohler and it is hands down the best faucet we have ever owned.

Agreed, cheap faucets are not worth the hassle of reinstalling every couple of years when the chrome-plating bubbles up.

(and now we've all answered some Bangladeshi spammer, lol)

And no kinks, let's keep it straight!

Recommend adding a Y connection and installing a she-inal. That way she can stay at sink longer and be more comfortable. I am so thoughtful with those type of things! :) Plus it could be quite entertaining for guests! :D
