10gbe throughput test

10gbe throughput test

Hi All

I have a win7 pc with a dual 10gbe LC card and a swith that is 10gbe ports I want to test that the switch can run at 10gbe if I create 2 VMs on 2 subnets and use the switch to routhtem
will that give an accurate throughput test

Probably wont give you the maximum throughput because you're adding up a lot of processing power (VMs, same card/pc). I'm not sure even jumbo frames would be supported across.

Not to mention that you're not going to have any device that can feed that pipe quick enough.

But I've heard that iperf can do it. It's pretty easy. Post your results here too so we can all gawk at the awesome speeds!
