There was a program that used to do this in XP.....The name escapes me.

ATF cleaner.....The fellow that used to run the helpdesk told me about it 3 or 4 years ago.

Yeah I remember that one. And I think Gary or Glary Utilities did too.
Dunno why they can't bring that feature to CCleaner.

wouldn't use these cleanup tools. if need be do it manually. they screw up sometimes and then good luck fixing it.....we have plenty of users calling us with broken PCs and many used these tools at some time. they may work for the novice but I would rather recommend educating yourself about tweaking windows instead for the long term

How have you see a temp file cleaner screw up a computer? I've used CCleaner quite literally tens of thousands of times across thousands and thousands of computers for many years, as well as our other techs. Removing various temp/junk files is a safe process, it is not capable of removing important files such as system files, program files, users saved files.
