"I'm stuck at <this>" thread for Half Life 2

Just bought a PS3 and half-life, what a great game!
Could I get some advice what to do since I'm stuck a strange spot in Ravenholm:

and challenge 41 (with the headcrabs throwing toxic zombie)

I have killed them all and now I try to step up on the second car to walk over the fence.... The strange thing is that I can not walk or run UP on the car, neither can I jump (X-button is not active for some reason).
How do I get up on the car?

Jeeeze..I can't remember...I made this thread back when the game was current....2004. We're about 8 years and several operating systems later now.
