I recently had to take my PC in for service. I had a problem I couldn’t resolve, so I needed the help of a tech.
He corrected what had been wrong but also updated my XP system from Service pack 2 to SP 3. I haven’t noticed anything different in speed, but I do notice my system seems more stable. But one problem I’ve come across is that “autorun” doesn’t work anymore. If I put a Music CD or a DVD movie into my writer, I have to go into My Computer and click on my CD ROM for it to play. With SP 2, I didn’t have to do this. I’ve tried suggestions from Google to correct this problem, but with no luck. From going into My Computer, clicking on my D Drive and then autoplay, and doing what was said. I’ve even tried suggestions of going into the registry and enabling autorun, then rebooting, but with the same results. Nada!
Can anyone help? If not, can I go into the Control Panel, then Add & Remove and just uninstall Service Pack 3. If so, will it revert back to SP 2?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
