did you get on the flight ?Humboldt wrote:Waiting at Sac airport to see if I can get a seat on the plane I booked 2 MONTHS ago. Doesn't look good. Just pounded a 9 dollar pint of Stella Artoise. Good stuff. Will be pissed as hell if I have to spend the night in a hotel and catch a 6:30 flight tomorrow morning. ****ing United.
Thankfully, yes.Dan wrote:did you get on the flight ?
Not sure what the problem was but I bought the tickets a couple of months ago. This was the only leg of my trip I didn't have a seat assignment in advance,
and I would've been furious if I had to stay the night.
2 people took the 400 bucks and gave their seats up, otherwise I wouldn't have had a seat.
Whew. Nothing like hearing that after flying east coast to west coast.
if that ever happens get a hold of me,we are 15 min from sac airport, you could sleep on my couch.Humboldt wrote:Thankfully, yes.

"Truly Local, Truly No Ka Oi
LAHAINA, MAUI, HI - 4 June 2012 - Sobrehumano Palena 'ole, Maui Brewing Co.'s (MBC) liliko'i and cherry red ale developed with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales (JPAA) will be released in June. MBC and JPAA both have brewed this beer; however MBC used standard fermentation while JPAA's version is a barrel aged sour. The beers will be packaged both by MBC (in cans) and JPAA (in bottles). MBC's cans are expected to hit store shelves the first week in June. This will be the first collaboration released by MBC in a can.
Sobrehumano Palena 'ole, is a blended Spanish-Hawaiian term meaning "superhuman" and "without limits" and, truly, there were no limitations placed on the development of this unique collaboration. This beer is ruby in color and tart and refreshing in flavor. It has an ABV of 6.0% and an IBU of 24 and pairs well with life; but also duck, and BBQ!
Garrett Marrero of Maui Brewing Co. tells us, "I'm 'super' excited to release this beer - there is ENORMOUS buzz surrounding our first 'can-laboration'. JP and Maui both are comfortable in pushing the limits just as is implied in the beer's name. Ron says he especially enjoys this beer listening to Braddah IZ's 'Hawaiian Suppaman' and I'd have to agree - great music, great bear, BBQ and friends...can't go wrong with this one. This is a limited release and won't last long so be sure to get some at your favorite shop as soon as possible!"
Maui Brewing Co. is a truly Hawaiian brewery, and proud to be wholly produced in Hawaii. Recognized as Hawaii's #1 craft beer since 2005, the company has a strong commitment to the local economy and the environment. MBC beers are packaged with the most eco-friendly materials. Cans are manufactured on Oahu and designed by local Maui artists. They have the added bonus of better protecting the beer from both light and oxygen damage which can compromise the taste. Plastic rings are dangerous to marine life and therefore, a unique, recyclable plastic carrying device is used to hold the cans. The spent grain from beer production is donated to local ranchers for cattle feed and composting. MBC is also very active in several local Hawaiian charities.
Founder Garrett Marrero and his wife, Melanie, operate a 7-barrel brewpub at the Kahana location as well as a 25-barrel production brewery and canning facility in Lahaina. Maui Brewing Co. is a truly local beer as 100% of their products are made in Hawaii. "
