Computer Cop Spy Programs

Post by dwighthuth »

While downloading Search and Destroy I received a message that I was not connected to the internet even though my modem clearly said that I was connected.

What type of monitoring software would create such an error?

Also I have read information about Computer Cop that is software that only needs to have the cd tray opened and palced within. Once implanted the program supposedly undetectable can allow the user to remotely view what you are doing at any given time.

Has anyone heard of a way to stop this program or how to detect it? Or is the program merely a double layer attempt by political and religious groups to gain information about us by extorting those that work for the ISP providers to give them the IP's of so called "trouble makers" so that such person's would then either be neutralized or forced to convert to a new personality based upon what the political religious right wants people to be so they can be controlled like perfect sheep in care of wolves?

Although there are "laws" that protect internet users from such attacks by the delusional and power hungry behind the curtain information trading through networks like Julian Assange's failed intel gathering efforts are just another way for the greedy and rich to exact their total control over what we see, what we hear and what we say.

The free world of Internet is going the way of China not because of the government wanting to protect national interest's against terrorist attack but rather because the government and religious political groups are using the threat of terrorism to gain access to people's private lives in order to force us to vote the way they want us to vote or cause us to fear being labeled a terrorist just because we do not support or believe in what they want us to believe...or who they want us to be.

So if the computer cop program is faux pas then could those in charge of wanting to control all there is possibly be sending your IP to everyone so that you buy their ISP provided security system which would then give them unfettered access to your PC?

Lots of things between the modem and your PC could stop net access. Trojan/worm/virus, faulty network card, damaged cable, dying router, etc.

As for your other question, "Huh?" fits well.

There are plenty of parental control/computer monitoring/employee monitoring software packages which are kept "whitelisted" with databases of antivirus/antispyware programs...I've done lots of installs of SpectorSoft..for one example. Although a month of so ago Microsoft Security Essentials accidentally had it detected for 1 day until they whitelisted it again.

Having installed Spybot S&D at least several thousand times in my career....I've seen it give that false "not connected to the internet" error many..many...many times...it's just an error by Spybot when it cannot detect its update server list within a set time period after launching. The reason for that is many...but nobody or nothing needs to be blamed for it.
