Post by jaydeee »

Hi!
My Dell gx270 is broken. Capacitors around the CPU are leaking/bloated. I want to sell it, will you buy it? how much?

your comments are highly appreciated. :thumb:

I highly doubt you'd be able to find a buyer for that, the age of that machine, lots of computer makes had issues with leaky/bulging capacitors due to a huge faulty batch from Taiwan that got into the tier-1 supply channels.

Even if the computer was working it's only worth about 150 bucks. It's an old socket 478..many generations old.

I posted about this a while back.. basically Industrial Espionage..

I had a athlon motherboard from Gigabyte that the caps mushroomed and popped. I was ticked... Gigabyte did absolutely nothing (which I do not deal with them any more). The motherboard vendors are half to blame as they know about it, and quietly swept the problem under the rug...

Yeah I had one of the earlier boards of that era cook on me, an MSI nForce based motherboard.
I school system that I did the network for, they had a huge bunch of Dells cook with that problem, Dell shipped a whole bunch of motherboard to fix them AFTER the warranty had expired. Was cool.
