http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/06/ ... ?tag=stackThe Los Angeles Fire Department Thursday confirmed that Michael Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center, reports KCBS in Los Angeles.
Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived.
TMZ.com is reporting that the singer suffered cardiac arrest. The 911 call came in at 12:12 p.m. PST at his Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles.
TMZ.com also spoke with Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson's father, who said that the singer is, " not doing well."
Jackson had planned to hit the stage at the O2 Arena in London for 50 concerts this summer. Tickets for the series, which kicks off on July 8, sold out in a matter of hours on March 13. By the time the shows end in February 2010, more than 1 million people will have seen Jackson perform.

[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.
[Updated at 2:46 p.m.: Jackson is in a coma and family have are arriving at his bedside, a law enforcement source told The Times.
Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.
[Updated at 2:12 p.m.: Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson rented the Bel Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.
The home is about 2 1/2 miles, about a six-minute drive, from UCLA Medical Center. An earlier version of this post incorrectly described the time to travel between the home and hospital as two minutes.]
The news comes as Jackson, 50, was attempting a comeback after years of tabloid headlines, most notably his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges.
In May, The Times reported that Jackson had rented the Bel Air residence and was rehearsing for a series of 50 sold-out shows in London's O2 Arena. Jackson had won the backing of two billionaires to get the so-called "King of Pop" back on stage.
His backers envision the shows at AEG's O2 as an audition for a career rebirth that could ultimately encompass a three-year world tour, a new album, movies, a Graceland-like museum, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau, and even a "Thriller" casino. Such a rebound could wipe out Jackson's massive debt.

While you may believe that he's a pedophile, there are many others, including me, that don't believe it. There was never any evidence that proved he did anything wrong to any kid. He was weird, sure, but that's most likely because he had one F'd up childhood and he tried everything in his power to relive that. He was setup by scam artists, and it's sad that many 80's babies won't remember him for how great he really was.

What's sad is what he did to himself. All the chemicals he pumped into himself trying to become white, when he did not need to be. He turned himself from one if, if not the, best show entertainers on The Planet into a physical freak.
In the Black & White and Thriller days, he was buff and a good looking black man. The absolute top of his game. I have that music and listen to it often as it shuffles on my iPod.
It was so, so sad to watch him implode.

he had a rare skin disorder called "Vitiligo" that caused his pale look and I too don't believe he did anything to those kids... he never grew up with a real childhood and only wanted to give back to those that may or may not have been able to enjoy a real one.
He will surely be missed and a pc of the 80's just died with him.

I remember M.J. the best in the 70's from his "Off The Wall" Album..
then the next big album in the 80's.. the "Thriller" Album...
good times back then.. great times.
In regards to allegations against him in the past, I don't know what to believe on that..
I choose to remember the man back then.. and the songs that people still love. God Bless Him, R.I.P.

Michael Jackson - What a long strange trip it's been...
From child star to Mega Star, to the most successful entertainer alive, to a recluse, to a physical freak, to a drugged out, very lonely man.
In spite of the bullsh*t, Michael will always be there with Elvis, Sinatra, The Beatles...

The guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen on "Beat It" still is one of the great solos.
I think that it's pretty obvious that he peaked with Thriller, and spent the rest of his career trying to recapture that.
As far as his oddities, could be explained by the lack of a real childhood when he was young...*shrugs*
i will miss the old MJ. the new one, not so much. too extreme for my tastes.
tbh, i never really believed he molested/victimized any children. however, he did cross the line into "creepy". this has no bearing on reality, of course. just the vibe i got.
early MJ and earlier Jackson 5
"Bad" = precipice into Crazytown.
