FOP32 and FOP38

Post by cy88 »

is the FOP32 enough to cool down a Duron 700 on KT7 with thermal paste or need a FOP38?

Should be enough...kind've depends on other factors like overall case cooling, room temps, how much you overclock it, etc.

The FOP38 kicks ass but is loud...doesn't bother me but does most.

i think my room temp around 18 to 20 degrees...damn cold. No extra case cooling, planning to OC from 700 to 950+ hopefully 1Ghz

My Fop32 cool my 1Ghz T-bird just fine....pretty good too when I o/c.....but if you really want to o/c your t-bird high, get a FOP38..or their newest one: WBK38 - It's Global Win next gen HSF...comes with a 6.7K RPM fan (quieter than the current delta and _almost_ as effective)

but if i just use FOP32 to OC, would it be too less cooling?

I think it'll be good enough...just don't expect to have the lowest temps...the FOP38 will prob give you ~5ºC temp drop...

im using a fop32 on my tbird 900@1050 and the temps stay at 25 idle. 41 is the highest ive ever hit with cpu sressed for an hour or two.

I just like the hum of the 38. sounds like power. or maybe a server. well, several servers actually. heheheh. I dont really notice it once I hit my sunon 120mm tho.

if you dont mind noise, get the fop38, if you do get the fop32. theyre both the same heatsink just that the fop38 has a faster fan on it to blow more air over the heatsink. which ever oneyou choose, youll be fine.
