VIA DDR board preview, hold off on that 133a!

Post by Kagemushka »

First off let me say that I was just about to purchase a ABIT KT7a-R (litteraly a click away) when I said to myself, "I wonder when that VIA DDR chipset is comming out."

So doing the logical thing I went to www.viahardware.com where to my supprise I stared strait at that beautiful golden chip.

Nuff said boys, be careful with this one it might induce a panic. :D

yeah, and?

it's been out....

I'm waiting for a PURE DDR mobo, currently all the ones out there are hybrid DDR/SDR for compatibility's sake so you don't have to go buy all new DDR right away

Personally though I WANT a PURE DDR board, I'm waiting for Abit to make one with pure DDR and 266bus and their on board high point 370 RAID 100 controller....

Hmmm, you make a good point. Abit is my choice for mobos so here is some juice on that.

Ok first off I think you are still confused, the VIA PRO266 is for PIII's, the VIA KT266 is for AMD.

Tests have shown that the VIA PRO266 has almost no advantage over regular SDRAM.

My days of Intel loving are over, if yo

My last reply was cut off.

I meant to say that if the 1.7 ghz P4 can't even stack up to a 1.33 GHZ Tbird, then why bother with the extra money.

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.
