Thanksgiving gifts from employers

Post by ghettoside »

I got a $20 gift card (Jewel/Osco- Alberston's Save-On) for Thanksgiving.

It's been a while since I received a turkey or gift card for Thanksgiving from an employer. Kinda nice. :)

Anyone else get anything from their bosses this Thanksgiving?

We give...some turkeys to food kitchens, and donations to local fire department in each of our towns.

My company doesn't give out gifts for the holidays. None, nada, except on one rare occasion when one was kinda shamed into it. See below.

However, for the last 32 years, that hasn't stopped me from getting a new hire or two to pop in the door of the boss, asking for his gift certificate for a Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey. lol

I've given gifts to employees for christmas in the past. However I always give gifts to the customers I do business with. Might be a fifth of crown for the ones that drink, and embroidered pullovers or sweatshirts for others. Might cost me 1500.00 dollars, but it goes a long way! ;)

My boss is not the giving type. Unless of course he is getting for his giving or he is really drunk.

My other boss on the other hand (his wife) is very generous and will prob. do something.

She even tracks birthdays.

makes sense to me. Gifts for employees depends on the size of the company as well as profits I'm sure.
