That youtube video of the gangs make me sick. They need to be lined up and shot, execution style.

That’s my first reaction too, then I felt embarrassment because it was posted from the city I call home. The reality is that it's probably inner city life for many people across this nation. The replies from the person that posted it are complete stupidity, he wouldn’t know what to do with himself if he ran across a real gang member by himself.

The only explanation I can offer up is that by the looks of production quality, he is probably a student at NOVAC. New Orleans Video Access Center was established to help people with lower incomes break into the film industry. They have produced some world renowned documentaries, and then you have complete and idiotic things like this produced too.

It also offers teen Filmmaking camps.

Yes there are alot of places like that around here also, and they are closing in and getting worse by the day... I have my ccw so if it came down to it I could defend myself. I dont look for trouble, I know the area's to stay out of and watch my back.

That is the key, look like you are knowing what you are doing (watch your six when getting into cars. always look around in parking lots, etc...) and they will usually go for hte weaker prey. When in that doesn't work thank god for the ability to protect yourself.

What youtube video are you talking about? I doubt i want to see it though, probably just piss me off. YOu have a valid point about inner city problems. Really sad, these kids need something better to do than kill each other. I couldn't imagine growing up where there is more asphalt than grass....

He posted a link on the first page. At what I was getting at by “quality of the video” is that it doesn’t look to be filmed with a standard video camera and the banners that flash across the screen, not the quality of idiots filmed, that’s for damn sure.

Again, I’m sorry for the thread jack, I am one of those “protect your family by any means necessary” types of people. I’ve been doing tons of research for a story that I’m writing about how Louisiana is so different from any other state. Things from our law which can only be compared to other nations, not states, to our state election process which only be compared to France. I clicked on this thread while taking a break from writing and just *popped*. We are the red headed step-child of the United States.

I’m hoping to have the story finished by the second anniversary of Katrina, but I doubt it will happen because I still have a long way to go and I’m only about 500 words into it.

Here’s a small excerpt from it,
…. With the state hosting the mouth of the mighty Mississippi river it helps drain most of the area between the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains and parts of Canada. What that translates into is the levee system built in Louisiana by the United States Army Corps of Engineers is trying to control over one and a quarter million square miles of drainage and tidal surges from the Gulf of Mexico caused by hurricanes. We also have more navigable inland waterways than any other state totaling more then 4000 miles. And yet, people are still to wonder how or why the levee system failed with such dire and catastrophic consequences during Hurricane Katrina’s impact…..
