Sharing broadband connection with my laptop.

I brought a new laptop and would like to connect it to the internet. I already have a PC and it has a broadband connection. i was wondering if i could share my broadband tht i have with my PC with my new laptop. If yes plz let me know how. the laptop is: HP pavilion dv2104eu. i know it has wireless but still i want to know if i can share my PC internet connection.

Johnny, purchase/install a compatible wireless router (e.g., Dlink, Linksys, Belkin, SMC, etc). That's it..

Does your PC have 2 NICs?

If your PC got 2 network adapters (Ethernet network adapter or wireless adapter), then you can enable Internet Connection Sharing to share the Internet connection with labtop.



If not, get a router to set up wireless network or Ethernet network.

Well i got to the control panel but it didnt say anything like that in the control panel! Any ideas?? Oh yeah thanks for everything so far!

j, is your broadband modem a wireless router OR did you purchase one??? once up connect up a wireless router, you will be good 2 go...

if you want, you can confirm that you have a wireless network card. under network connections > lan or HS internet, check your network cards for the word wireless a/o 803.11x..

Well i have a Modem/router combo and it has multiple plug ins for internet cords and i took a cord and plugged into both my laptop and the modem and i still cannot do anything and it doesnt show anything different on my laptop or computer! and for some reason when i went to network sharing wizard thing it said i cant share network connections on this PC?

any help?
