can somebody take a look at my results plz?

Get help and discuss anything related to tweaking your internet connection, as well as the different tools and registry patches on the site. TCP Optimizer settings and Analyzer results should be posted here.

HI Guys,

Been a while!!

Can somebody please tell me what if anything I should change here to optimise my connection? Ignore the MTU value as its the highest for PPPoA virgin. Ta!!

MTU = 1430
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput. If you are using a router, it could be limiting your MTU regardless of Registry settings.
MSS = 1390
MSS is not optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU value.
Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 522640
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits (scale factor of 6)
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 65330

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511520 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 8)
255760 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 4)
127880 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 2)
63940 (MSS x 46)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 20905.6 kbps (2613.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 8362.24 kbps (1045.28 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 56 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

Running: Windows XP Pro SP2

ISP: Virgin Net (UK) – PPPoA – up to 8MB/S

No Router – Just USB Modem direct to DSL.

TCP Window Size of 255760 may give you better speed.
