I think you're looking at the core speed which is 520MHz. There's core speed and a memory speed which is 1080MHz.

You said its running at 520mhz and its DDR RAM, thats Double Data Rate, so its doing twice the work of regular SD RAM at 520mhz so its speed is 1040mhz.

Just like when you have your FSB at 200mhz yet have DDR RAM running at 400mhz.

I'm running Dual 7900GTX's the mem speed should be over 1600 but its only showing like 840.. this is cause its DDR thus 840 is really 1680.. and you think well hell that should be doubled.. well the reader isn't going to show me it double even in SLI so its no big deal the speed is there!

Right click my computer, select properties, is it a pentium or a celeron?

What programs do you have running while you play BF2, whats in your system tray, are you running an anti virus scanner?

Also run adaware/spybot.

if the virus scanner is active it could, and if your downloading with the down load manger it might.

Then my only otehr thought to why they may be running at higher settings is that they are using a lower resolution.
