Over the past couple of months I have noticed an increasing number a questions relating to both Wireless and Satelite communications.

And I was curious if Speedguide had any plans for a Wireless forum?

Great idea Rosco. I've been following the wireless revolution quite a bit, and the info out there is pretty confusing at times. Satellite is also gearing up more and more, with 2 way service now.

I haven't really seen a need for a seperate forum Just for Wireless, but that is something we can discuss I suppose, if the need is there and all.

Or maybe we can expand the Cable/xDSL forum to a Cable/xDSL/Wireless ??

I like to keep a forum Simple, once a forum fills up with lots of forum topics it seems to degrade the other forum topics on a site, I like to keep the number down as much as possible.

Thoughts anyone?

DSL is Baseband, Digital
Cable is Broadband, Analog

anyways

We could make it a Broadband/BaseBand/Wireless forum Image

Well, There is a category that says broadband on the main forums page, and the description of the Cable/DSL forum does include wireless and any other type of internet connection... I don't see how we could possibly fit every type in the title Image

Broadbanbd forum... Hmm, what's the definition of broadband ? What does it have to do with high speed ? Although it's most commonly used to describe high speed connections, I believe it simply means a type of transmission of data where the medium can carry several channels at once... And baseband then would be where the medium (wire) can transmit only one signal at a time.

As far as another forum, I'm not sure if the number of posts justifies a wireless forum.

How about AllBand Forum Image

or, make subsections, so that say u click internet, then have a choice of broadband or baseband, then pick ur type of connection, then select if u use external/internal/NIC/PPPoE/etc... (which ever apply from ur previous selecttion), then tweaked/stock, and finally let u view ur chosen forum Image

Looks like I opened up a can of worms with this suggestion.
However, as a member of SpeedGuide, and for what it is worth, my vote is for a Wireless/SAT. Forum.

Technically Cable isnt analog Image It uses a digital downstream signal, but in a way its also analog, using 19 or so hz to pump the upstream.
