There are signal boosters/repeaters...Tpofa wrote: Are there signal boosters maybe that I could put between the computer and router?
Or could I just run an ethernet cable to the computer?
It is about 58 feet from the router room to the room with the computer, then add about 25 or so. That means about a 100ft cable.
What kind of cable should I use, Cat 5? Cat 6? and would this idea even work?
I would probaly put it just under the carpet by the walls up over 2 doorways and then across a room.

Or..yes you could also take the wired approach. Cat5 is fine...Cat5e is fine, just slightly more expensive because it's rated for giga speeds. Cat6 is fine, but quite a bit more expensive, because it's also rated for giga speeds. Don't bother with Cat 7. The link you posted above is fine.
Another approach...I've been installing a lot of Pre-N/MIMO wireless networks, which will be replacing "G" wireless. The increase in range is phenominal. Linksys SRX routers and Belkin Pre-N routers are two of the better MIMO models out there. MIMO routers take a different approach, the routers have 3x antennas, and sort of do a "shotgun" approach in blasting that signal out...that methods makes it down hallways, through walls, ceilings, etc...so much better than any prior wireless like G or B or A. And you can still use old B and G cards in your computers to work with MIMO routers and realize the gain in distance.

Yes
A signal booster would be a big improvement over what you have now. Whithout having to deal with the whole cable thing.
