Three bomb blasts ripped through crowded restaurants on the famous Indonesian resort island of Bali on Saturday, killing at least 32 people including some one Australian and wounding more than one hundred others.
Police have blamed Jemaah Islamiah for a series of attacks against Western targets in the world's most populous Muslim nation including the 2002 Bali blasts, which also took place on a Saturday night not far from the Kuta restaurant blast.
The Aussie was 16 years old.
This will kill Bali as a tourist destination. These people ultimately are affecting their own. There are many other places tourists can go. Bali is just a fun place and popular....... well it was.

Thats a shame. I can't see myself going to a religeous country right now at all. I hope tourists stop going there till the governments can put a collar on them

i truely believe those people are raised to hate,,idont believe in GOd telling them to do the **** they do,I cant say how much it angers me that these people do this stuff and claim,"its in the name of Religion",,i dont buy that.as for me,,There is No love loss between me and people like that, sorry But thats where i stand.....
Jemaah Islamiah is a legally recognised political party in Indonesia. Until it is declared an illegal organisation they are still able to recruit and spread their brand of poison.
The spiritual head of Jemaah Islamiah received 3 years gaol for his part in the 2002 bombings. The 3 others that have been caught copped the death sentence. The bombmakers are still at large. With the police force such a powerful one in Indonesia, one has to ask the question why these men are still at large.
Sadly these attacks are carried out by a few but the flow-on effect to the rest of the population will be staggering. It took 2 years to get the tourists back. It will take a lot longer this time and ruin the Balinese economy in the process.

A lot of these people are basically ignorant and uneducated. They are led by people who lead them down the wrong path. In their minds they are only doing what they think God (allah) wishes for them to do. Religeon does strange things to people when its wielded in the wrong hands. We've seen it done many times over in Christianity as well. I really wish that Mythical Bolt of Lightning would just come down and strike accordingly.

Terrorism is honestly the lowest form of attacks, especially when they target children. Disgusting...
Not that I condone it but Terrorism and even Bioterrorism has been around for a long time. The Civil War, The Revolutionary War. They used to call it Guerrilla Warfare at one time. I think we were one of the first people to ever use Biological warfare during the revolutionary war by slipping the Brits Indian blankets that were infected with the Plague and other diseases.

Dude, pull the stick out of yer ass for just a second. I promise you can reinsert when you return to police academy on Monday. I'm not making light of the oh-so-seriousness of this thread. I just don't see a need to get all worked up over something that happens every single day in every single corner of the world. The U.S. got a very very small taste of terrorism during 9-11. But in the rest of the world, death, destruction & bloodshed are the daily realities. Will lambasting me change that? Negative, there, sparky. So lighten up.

JMHO....Nope, not silent at all. People just believe that they are separate from God and that God is an external entity. When you get caught up with that mode of thinking, chit hits the fan. Unfortunately, we are witnessing a lot of that. I can go on but I will just leave it at that for the time being.
Pie, during earlier times and as far back as Genghis Khan that I recall, when towns and castles were sieged, it wasn't uncommon to catapult the dead into the sieged fortress. Most of dead, had died of the plague or other maladies.
What we are seeing is nothing really new when it comes to fundamental religions.
Same goes for terrorism, except hundreds of years ago was called something else, and technology was different.
I think main difference between what we are seeing now and events that happened in history say 1,000 years ago is our perception because we get instant media results. When something happens thousands of miles away becuase of technology we are able to find out within minutes, while back in say Middle Ages, you be lucky to hear about it at all.

Yeah forgot about that. I was thinking about modern warfare with Guns and Bombs, Cannons , but you are right. We are still guilty of it as well tho. I don't think that theres ever been some sort of "superpower" or "empirical" government that hasn't used terrorism in one way or another.
Look how long it took the IRA to finally stop the terror in GB. Remember those days? Just a different wacko leading the ignorant astray again in a different part of the world and over different reasons now.

Well this is what I believe. We are born into this world with free will. God does not interfere with free will. If he/she did interfere on his/her own, then it would not be free will at all. If we want divine intervention in our lives, we need to ask for it. But, if you don't believe that it can happen because we are so caught up with the illusion of this nasty world, guess what, it will not happen.
I don't expect anyone to agree with me either. This is just MY belief system.

The suggestion that this was not the thread for "Jack Bauer" or humour was mine and I made it. (read the thread.)
Telling people to "pull the stick out of yer ass for just a second" was just not called for IMO and I was not "lambasting", just stating my opinion.
If you two want to carry on and throw cyberpunches at each other, then go start your own thread.
Update on the topic of the thread....
Looks like there's 26 killed and just over 100 wounded. There were 3 separate blasts, minutes apart and all targetting tourist spots. For once, CNN appears to have the story correct. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiap ... li.blasts/
