Welcome to Speedguide Joana. :thumb:
This post would get better results in the software section. ;)
First thing I would do is scan for spy-ware, ad-ware.
Microsoft anti-spyware is good and free.
there is also Ad-aware and Spybot search and destroy. They both have free versions. You update them first like you would an anti-virus program and then run them. Next I would make sure you don't have any nasties on your system. Scan with a good anti-virus program making sure to download the latest virus definitions file first.
Something else to do is to defrage your hard drive. :)

Ok, you want to speed up your internet connection, not your PC, correct?
If yes post your question in the tweaking or networking forum. This section is for problems with the way the forum as a whole operates. :)

Did you buy your computer already configured with XP? If so, a great deal of unneeded software is starting up when you boot the computer. This can slow down the overall speed of your computer. Is that what you are talking about?

Welcome to SpeedGuide. :)
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.
