Wish I could change your mind but it seems like your pretty well set on it.
However if your life now is changed that much I guess a place like this with different religeous/political beliefs would not be suited for you. I can relate and respect your decision. Its a shame all the friends you have made here will definitly miss you. Take care spamster.

Sorry to see you go yet I respect your wishes all the same.
I have my beliefs too but I keep most of that off the net where it belongs. There's too much religious talks online IMO same with politics. I tend to steer clear of all that myself unless I'm joking.
SG is for the most part a tech site and resource for related information. I see the General Discussion board as a place to promote comradery and let's us kick back to prevent the boards from getting too stale. My sense of humor is mostly way over the line so I have to keep a tight leash on it here.
Wow how does this all relate???
Oh yeah, I summed it up on the first line. Well good luck to you and don't be a stranger.

I would have expected more from you. I say you lack the courage of your convictions, sir, and that you are seeking an easy way out.

Btw, you might not get such negative responses if some of those that share your beliefs weren't so militant. If I am told I will burn in an eternal lake of fire if I don't live my life how they want to, strangely, it turns me off to what their message is and others with similar messages.

Bottom line, however, is that if you leave, you are conceding defeat. and take it from me, the active lurker, you have plenty of folks in your corner. I am not among them, but I know you have a lot of friends here.

Leaving is a mistake.

Nice post, Chrome!

Sammy......your right in saying you don't bash others beliefs.. In all the posts I've ever read from you, your leading by example in this catagory....

I agree that bashing any religion is a pain to read..

Take time off to think about it all.......If you decide to actually leave, SG will be the lesser for it.

Dunno how ya take conceding defeat from his choice to depart. If he were in a contest of wills to "win" an argument or something of that nature yeah sure. But as far as I can tell Sammy just puts his two cents out for folks to persuse and that's about it. If the "bashing" misdirects his energy towards his goals, then more power to him for havin the gusto to do something about it.

I do agree with the mistake bit. Listen to DHD Spammy, he might be old and feeble, but he's pretty dang smart :D

Go Easy on Your Own Self Bud!!

Post by MissTynker2 »

You have recently chosen a path of total change for your lifestyle and beliefs. It is wonderful!! that you are so enthused about them...and you go for it Big Guy! Please...do not overload yourself though...with too many changes at one time...pick your top priority first...and work on that...then when you are comfortable ...move on to the next step..no-one can accomplish a total life style change in ONE jump!!...Give yourself a break!! Have a bit of patience with yourself darlin'! :)

Reach for your supporters here at speedguide...and there are MANY!! Those that do not understand...nor appreciate what is going on in your life at this time...simply ignore..plain and simple..if you still decide you need a break..and that is just fine...then you know who will be here when you return.. :)

Hate to see you go, yet i too understand Spammy. It is unfortunate that some here cannot be more tolerant of others beliefs.

Why people cannot respect anothers choice on the same level as they expect theirs to be treated, is simply beyond my ability to understand.

If you choose to not invest yourself in Any Religion or Faith, that is fine also and should be respected the same as that which others have chosen. It is a Two Way Street however...Tolerance.

I do however believe that not every Post or Reply should be garnished with Religious overtones, nor do i feel it necessary to try to foist ones Beliefs on another at every opportunity. Live & Let Live.

If someone has found something that works for Them...Terrific! We should all be so lucky.

Religion & Politics to me are personal choices and nothing is gained by trying to preach your point of view to another, as it always ends the same way...Badly!

I hope you reconsider Spammy as you've added a lot to SG and will be missed.

Good Luck in whatever decision you come to :)

Now, as to my real opinion
Sam, if you don't have the balls to be a real Christian and deal with what gets said on SG, then it so be it. A real Christian your not.
Persecution is part of the game.
I'll take my being an Non believer before I cave to being a guttless wonder.
Sorry, but I believe in what I believe in, nothing anyone says is going to sway me from my beliefs.

Then you can stand proud of the choice you have made, untill then, dream on brother.
You and a whole lot more will get pissed with what i've said, so be it.

Sam, I've made about 5 of these threads for various reasons in the past. Always come back. It's home for me in alot of ways and 99% of all SG'ers are top notch people with good hearts. That 1% is hell at times. It only took one Omnipressive to make a grip of sg'ers leave at that point in time.

When you come back we'll be here. :thumb:

Every time I come on SG theres bad stuff going down. Someone's always angry or bitter or resentful or darkly sarcastic about something or something else.

When I came here in 2000 it was nice, boring and people got along, and that was good enough for everyone involved.

What happened to that? Why is it this big on-line piss-fest all the time now?
Funny is when a fat lady walks around while someone plays the tuba. Once you've seen that, you'll never laugh at anything else. Except maybe a skeleton dancing around while someone plays the xylophone, which is almost exactly the opposite of a fat lady walking around while someone plays the tuba. Well, a skeleton is the opposite of a fat lady. But is a xylophone the opposite of a tuba? History will decide.
