ive installed it on my laptop and my main machine (see sig)
ive been using it on my laptop and ive not seen any issues with it.

on my main machine however....i needed to remove it.
it caused powerquest to not work on my main system, but powerquest still works fine on my latop.
It caused issues with doom3 on my main system as well.
the good news is that after the sp23 uninstall....all was fine. the uninstaller works really well.

and i have a very basic install on my main system right now so as to keep doom3 running at its peak on my system.....so there isnt any other junk on there aside from my image software and panda platinum AV.

is it worth it?.........im still on the fence with it.
some systems there isnt a single issue.....but on some others there are problems.

the uninstall for sp2 works like a champ.

i recommend......full backup...... then install and try it.
if it acts up...uninstall it and wait for updates for what ever your having issues with(if you have any).....or check to see if there are already updates available.

I wouldn't bother if it was me. I don't plan on installing it for two to three months after its initial release.

But that's just me. :)

I've installed it on 2 dozen systems and not one hiccup yet! Well I did have one problem on my virtual machine install(file was corrupted, doesn't count).

I agree. Always a good idea, let others sort out the problems and then once it's proven, then update.

I'm a bit curious myself if it's worth upgrading to SP2.

I recently just bought an OEM Win XP Full version which included SP1a. Got it off of ebay for 75$.. (First e-bay purchase I've made.)

Anyways, everything is working fine and I'm wondering if it's even worth it..

I'd go with what others are saying - leave it for now, wait for microsoft to be overwhelmed with help messages and then in a couple of months do it ("don't fix it if it isn't broken!")
If they're not overwhelmed with help messages - then sure you may have lost a few month's worth of SP2, but better safe than sorry! ;)
