thats common in the warmer weather,
it's called "mustard butt",
I have read that it's mostly from not wiping your butt good enough after a poop and then doing alot of walking or movement.

From what I've read the ointments only prolong the rash. My initial reaction (no pun intended) was to put some cortizone cream on it but online butt rash resources say to just leave it alone for a few days and it'll go away.

The forest is naturally denuded, no need there. But advice taken on the other suggestions.

I just get bruised gluteus minimus. After yesterdays marathon 65km effort, things are a little dubious down there at the moment, it hurts just to sit on my computer chair o.O
I suspect my problem is more from lack of suspension at high speed though, it's not a rash or rubbing problem. I could get a padded seat... or I could live with it. I'll take the cheap option

Oatmeal soaks are really good for irritated skin and rashes.
Soak a pound of oatmeal wrapped in fine netting in warm bath water. You can use the oatmeal pack as a healing sponge while you soak in the bath.
You may also be able to buy Oatmeal bath solutions at your pharmacy.

Barbara is preparing for our upcoming Bermuda trip, no time for butt lotion delivery.

Compression shorts....so you don't "chafe"..
I've always wanted a hot tub with jets that pointed in that direction...A long day of riding, that would be the ticket....
I've searched high and low for such a monster and none exist without being a contortionist...
So I"ve decided to just let the wife pick one out someday...(a hot tub)

The ride is short, about a mile, and I really don't want to have to change at work just to put on shorts for such a ride, that just adds stuff to carry, etc., and I don't have a saddlebag or backpack. I'm travelin' light, just food in a bag on the handlebars.
I do appreciate all of the suggestions though.
