Is There Anything Worse Than...

Your first day on the Job!

You hardly slept last night in anticipation of today. Up too early, shaved too close & fussed too much with your attire. Time to go. The 20 minute drive filled with the " What If's " & the " If Only's. "

You check the mirror one more time, exit your car filled with anticipation and apprehension of what's to come.

As you take your first steps into the Building filled with unknown faces your heart sags a little...Then from out of nowhere " Hey Tom! " a familiar voice, you turn and there is Gary one of the guys you played Summer Ball with, coming towards you.

Relief, massive Relief!

Soon Gary has introduced you to several fellow Employees and two more people you knew from the past. Suddenly things are Just Great. The apprehension is gone & you brighten, looking forward to the day. :)

The week passes, it's Saturday & you head to your Local for a couple of Brews. You swing open the Door and are Greeted with Familiar Faces & the easy exchange of Friends. Your Home. Time to relax, kick back and have some Fun.

The weeks been a Bitch with all the pressures a new job brings and the struggling to remember an untold number of New Names and Titles. No such thing here. It's all familiar ground.

Damn i Miss the Old Faces and Names that once filled these pages.

Not long ago you clicked on SG and their They where.

A quick sweep of the posts brought about an easement of the tensions of the day, as you saw So and So's Dad was Okay! and Hey Tim got that Job... Terrific. A New Member and someone solved John's problem for him. Great!

Friends helping Friends. People concerned about each other and the Wickedly Evil poking of Fun at one another that made you Smile.

Time to Relax, You where Home.

I for one miss coming Home to Familiar Names that leapt to mind with Personalities attached.

Personalities I've formed in my mind over time spent with these persons, my Friends. A No Brainer as they say. You simply jumped in and joined the Fun. Nothing to think about really, It's Bill, so I'll pull his chain on the Sabres losing last night, or whatever.

Sadly this is missing now imho, as i struggle to recall who this New Name with the high post count used to be. Sometimes their Sig. mentions their past Handle, sometimes not. Either way you have to kick the Grey Cells into action to bring about the desired info to respond to the post and the person in question.

Hey! this is work, is this what i came here for? My mind, like my Shorts has lost some of the Elasticity needed to relearn new input.

Maybe it's just Me getting too old, but i sure do miss Them Old Days and Familiar Faces, when you didn't have to think. You just came for the Fun. You where Home! :)

What do You Think?

Hi RoundEye, Claude_Ballz :D , PãradØxDêit¥™, downhill, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Prey, UOD

I didn't wish to apply pressure to anyone re their choice of name, simply tried to explain how i felt.

It's a bit like learning French in School. You may become versed in it alright, but you still think in English first. When i see the name and do the conversion I've lost the spontaneity of it all.

I still revert back to your original names to assess my remarks to you. EvilAngel is still EvilAngel to me.

A much changed & improved EvilAngel, but EvilAngel none the less.

When i see his posts now it brings back memories of years ago and the tremendous strides he has made in his life. It makes me happy to see how far He has come in life and what hard work and perseverance can do for someone who wishes to improve himself and the circumstances for His Family.

It's all their in a flash when i see the name. By the way EvilAngel We are All extremely Proud of you...Way to Go my Friend :)

The point being is whatever reason you may have for your name change you should be Proud of where you started & the credit your original name gave you here.

I post nowhere else, the reason being i like it here with my Friends. I know you do to. :)

Thanks for your thoughts & Have a Great Evening :)

You made no pressures Larry. You just helped me realize who I am here. Actually after reading your post I went straight up the chain of command and ask for my name back. I'm glad the higher ups kept it warm for me. :)

I still think of Evil Angel as scrum. A name he started with quite a while back.

If you aren't here everyday the name changing can become confusing,

......to each there own I guess.

Hi RoundEye

I remember that well, but thought EvilAngel suited him better back then. i don't know why i used him as an example, it just popped out.

Confusion for sure on my part as well RoundEye. Of course i'm not too bright anyway and it happens quite naturally with me :D

Thanks RoundEye, have a good one :)
