The first issues is how far you are away from the CO. If you are too far away, the higher speed plans will be unavailable.

Extremely so. I have had them in the Washington, DC area and now in SanFrancisco. Great uptime and very close to rated speeds.

They aren't the cheapest, but this may be a case where you get what you pay for.

dslreports.com has a forum dedicated to Speakeasy. See if you can find any posts from users in your area.

SpeakEasy is great in my opinion. Definately head over to that DSLR forum that cyberskye mentioned. They have SE techs over there that will help you with many problems, and may be even able to tell you why you can't get the 768 upload.

I just got an email stating that they are lowering the price on my 1500/768 package from $100 to $90/month.

Most companies would just offer this to new customers to try and build up their base. Speakeasy PROACTIVELY notofied me that they are lowering prices and I will see the savings on my next bill.

i got this plan: 1500/384 and i havent get my equipment yet, so after i install everything, i will try to upgrade it to 1500/768 and if i cant get that then i would have to go back w/ cable :( they said they 384 is my max, hopefully that's not true.. im ok if i they can give 600 uploads.. that should more than fine for me :D

It isn't really what 'they can give you' - it's your distance from the CO and the line quality in between.

600k on a 768k connection is respectable.

I would still take 1500/384 over cable (comcast in my area) as the pings are so low - 15-17ms range. I was getting 80-100ms with cable and unless you just sit around downloading or providing targets for RIAA bots, ping affects your overall experience more than raw speeds.
