You have to open the thread before you can reply so that is one view.
Then you post your reply and are taken back to the thread to view your reply so that would be 2 views.
and then the person who starts the thread has the first view but not a reply.
So, if 11,000 SG members looked at this thread and posted to it, including the origal "new thread" by the creator, there would be 22001 views and 11000 replies definately not a perfect mathematic equation but simple enough.
