I've told myself that this is the year to pull the trigger on some much "wanted" hardware. Last year I hesitated and missed out on almost everything while I watched prices increase after the sales were over.
I (still) want to max out my mobo's CPU capacity (AM4). The Ryzen 9 5900x is now $199 at Micro Center. If I see that 5900x go any lower in will be in my computer. My current Passmark rating for the 3700x is 22538 and the 5900x is rated at 39113 (a 42% increase). But first I have to get the nerve to flash my BIOS so it will accept those CPUs.
I've got enough memory but I'd still like to get a2tb M.2 SSD. I'm just keeping my eyes wide open.
What are you looking for ?
Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024
Re: Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024
I loaded up on a few Samsung SSDs already, got a 2tb and a 4tb, also upgraded my CPU/MoBo about a year ago, so skipping this round for personal stuff.
I will likely buy a couple of Dell desktops to replace my brothers' older office PCs, I keep them on ~5 year rotation as cheap workstations.
I may also buy my daughters something, large USB sticks or external SSDs for backup/storage maybe.
Other than that, not looking for anything specific, but if I like something I may act on impulse, heh.

The WD Black 2TB SN850X is going for $123 at Amazon. I already have over 2gb of empty space on my 2 non-OS drives so if I get this it would just be because it's so darn cheap.
Re: Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024
I will go up to 4tb for further SSD purchases myself, to even out write wear, to have multiple sizes, and to conserve PCI slots.
Re: Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024
I talked myself back from the edge this year (again). I know I talk a good game but when I sit here at my computer and I honestly think about what I'm actually doing with my PC I realize for this point and time in my life it's doing everything I need it to do. I also have plenty of headroom, space and speed to continue we'll into the future before anything becomes a necessity.
Although I did find an excellent deal on some racing tires for by bicycle and those are arriving tomorrow! Even in the case of the tires I don't really need them right now, but the price was so low I just couldn't pass it up. They'll just go into my spare parts drawer for later this Summer.

Bike tires is like investing in yourself, sounds like a good thing
I bought a dehumidifier for my daughter, some bathroom faucet from Amazon that I have to change, and some other small stuff (Anker USB3 hub, extra wi-fi security camera with sd card) but nothing expensive this year. I looked at cheaper office desktop PCs, didn't see any great deals so I just skipped it for now.
