Who's got the best reputation for quality spinners? I want to get some stuff off of 4 old HDDs that I have and move them to a new one.

For large capacity HDDs, I usually buy WD Red from Amazon, they are reasonably priced and reliable.
If I want to check real reliability reports for particular models, Backblaze has the most stats, here is the latest report: https://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaz ... r-q2-2024/


Seems that the 14-16GB WD Datacenter drives are some of the most reliable (based on HGST technology after WD acquired them)
