Sad News, Roundeye has Passed Away

Post by Ken »

I just received an email from Mrs. Roundeye informing me that MS has finally taken Roundeye (Tobey) after years of suffering and dealing with it.

He hasn't been around for a few years, no doubt due to his health, however he was always on the boards for many years and will always be a part of our SG family...

My heart goes out to his family along with condolences and best wishes.

I will be linking Mrs. Roundeye to this thread.

:( RIP Roundeye! May the sun and wind be at your back as you ride a Ducati eternally...

Sad. Just sad.
You are in my heart... as is everyone who is affected by this sad event.
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Damn, he seemed like a fun dude. Have a family member with MS, definitely not a fun thing to deal with, so at least he doesn't have to suffer through that, but sucks to have him gone.

Sad indeed. Toby was a very very funny guy. He sure had a lot of great stories. He thought he had a good thing going with a personal business till Katrina hit. He sure had a lot of stories about that too. I used to talk to him and Michelle a lot but when he took a turn for the worse not so much. Rest in peace my friend!
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

Cheers, RoundEye. My time will come some day and when it does I hope to see you there so we can carry on. Until then you will be missed.

I well remember his stories, but it was his genuine nature that always caught me. Tobey was authentic. As I am tugged back to our SG heyday, he is one of the finer personalities.

Very sad news...I had the privilege of meeting Roundeye and the Mrs when they were passing through Detroit while on vacation, awesome people! Also had a missed opportunity in 2009 when I was in NOLA, looking back I should have canceled that day of training and met up with Toby...see you on the other side my friend!

Haven't been around much and just saw this. I am very sorry to hear of our loss. I can attest that MS is a crappy disease. I lost my wife two years ago after a hard fought struggle with her MS and brain cancer, which was likely related to the MS. Prayers to the family!!

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

As is often the case with David, I couldn't have said this better. Tobey was a good person.
