Should you turn off File and Print sharing to make your computer more secure? Like in Network Neighborhood? Would that make a difference? I read this as a little tip somewhere.

Yep, well I installed the patch and then changed the rwin with TCP Optimizer. So the rest of the patch is still there and I think its jacking up something. My upload speed is terrible. Still don't know ...

How in the world do you disable the @home patch or uninstall it? Ive looked in the Add/remove programs box and it just isnt there. I can't find it anywhere and I think its messing up my connection. Anyone?

Ok, tried all three Rwin settings and came up it seems actually slower. My Upload is still half of what it says its supposed to be, and the download isnt all that great either, around 800.

OK, Ill try those settings, steel or lobo any comment on what the lady told me my caps were? When it seems cox everywhere else is 3000/256 and here its 1024/128? Any ideas on that one? Also, Under the properties for my NIC, I select media type in the advanced tab, and what I have it on now is ...

Im getting Cox highspeed internet this friday. However I don't want to install their software and browser crap as Ive heard it forces you to use settings that they want you to instead of what you want to specify. Any way around this? How can I do it manually? Any guides or FAQ's I can read?
